After due consideration from the BARCS Committee we have decided to cancel the 2020 Radioglide Weekend at Buckminster due to be held in
May.

It is unlikely we will be able to reschedule. However, we will liaise with the BMFA when more is known about the ability to hold larger gatherings at flying fields.

We will keep you posted as and when we have more information to act on.

Sorry to have to write this post.

I wish you all good health in the coming months.

Regards

Greg

Hi Steve,

If we can then of course. It has been discussed and not behind closed doors. In AOB in the digital AGM there was a 20 minute discussion on running comps. Using technology to make it viable.

Currently we would struggle with the guidelines to make it work. As 6 or more people are considered a gathering.

If you are over 50 years old and male then you are considered  in a higher risk group. I know a number of fliers who are taking the social distancing issue very seriously. People are worried about the score cards, timing,  landing tape, launching etc.

If new rules are brought into practice and there is an appetite  to run the event then our first port of call would be to speak to Manny and see if Buckminster is available.

If it is possible we will try our hardest to make it work.

Any suggestions on how it could work will be gratefully received.

Happy Landings and be safe

Greg

In sailing we have, 1 person operated countdown timer, 1 person touches the master score sheet, 2m separation at all times, no sharing of equipment, no touching other yachts, gloves and/or handgel for padlocks/keys, cars 3m apart ....
