Any chance of putting surnames on the results listings, so those of us not there know who is who, if there are 3 Andy's for eg.

Also where is the best place to find out what and how to do F3F and is a 25year old V tail Calypso ok to have a go with?

I may join you sometime to prop up the results list from the bottom?

Rock up to an event with your Calypso and fly. I am sure you will be made welcome. F3f is really easy to fly 20 seconds or slower than the quick boys. It’s closing that gap that is more difficult! That’s were the fun starts.

If the winter league events get going again that is a good place to start. The events are a bit more relaxed and people are always willing to answer questions. Read the basic rules for the class so that you have a basic idea of how it works.

Warning: F3f is addictive.

Come up the hill on a non covid Saturday and you will probably find s few of us there to give you a start John. You can always pm to ask if we are going or not.

Normally results are posted on the GBSRA site Contests section in a more complete format, and the full results sheet is also usually available there.

25 year old Calypso sounds perfect to me.

Hi John,

If someone can fly back and forth across the slope and then land successfully then they can have a go at F3F.

I hate to say it but the Nasty Midlanders as Grommit from White Sheet MSA calls them are very friendly and helpful. Plus they are some of the best pilots in the UK when it comes to F3F. Polecot has a huge safe landing area. I can not think of a better place to try F3F for the first time.

Regards

It's a bit of a drive for you, but we're always around if it's flyable at Whitesheet John; do the helicopters ever give you time off during the week?

Thanks for the replies chaps.

I can see the weather up Pole Cottage from my conservatory, before I drive up there, so its my local slope.  That would be where I have a go, if I do get some decent servos into the old Calypso.  Not sure I understand your question ref helicopters William?

OK William - I thought my age thing was affecting me and I forgot that I was a Chinook pilot or something!

Hi All,

Given that we now have different government covid restrictions we can only Echo others concerns .

This time the situation is far from clear, especially as far as travel between Tiers is concerned.
Government Guidelines and BMFA advice is NOT to travel.
The Mynd is in T2 whilst the many of our flyers are in different T3's
to call a comp would be to invite travel against the guidelines.

This could possibly bring the Club into disrepute, an therefore the Midland Winter League on the 12th Dec is OFF

The good news is that we still have a few more months of the Winter League to go, there is always the possibility that restrictions may be eased.

Wishing you all safe and enjoyable Christmas, and hopefully see you all in the New Year.

Andy, Les

PS thanks to Jon E   for the words  🙂
