The final table. Double click to make it legible.

The controversy...

2 or 3 years ago, when I first published the rules, I stated that it was the top 7 results to count. In the event of a draw, the 8th would be included etc.

However, when I updated the rules last year, I didn't include that paragraph so technically, all 12 challenges count.

This makes Graham Lorimer the winner who scored in every challenge. That deserves a medal simply for perseverance.

However, if only the highest 7 results counted then CirrusRC would have have won.

I will open a new posting for 2022 rules discussion but I would like to thank all those who participated for making the event so worthwhile. Give yourselves a big clap.

So, well done to Graham, A very big well done to CirrusRC for that mammoth 2 hour plus flight - that will take some beating I would imagine

And finally well done to Anthony who started later but climbed steadily through the ranks to finish 3rd.

Only virtual trophies with virtual champagne awarded. You can get yourselves virtually drunk.

Best wishes

Will do.

I'll restart the league when club flying fields can reopen. Sometime in April I think

Hi Martyn

I think the Club Flying fields are open from tomorrow with Social Distancing protocols in place.

Would be good if the next Challenge was started, always nice to go flying with something to aim for, and I am sure there are a lot more F3RES models now ready to fly.

Thanks Graham

I hadn't forgotten, it was on my to-do list for this evening but appreciate the nudge anyway.

Post has been raised.

Best wishes

Now we're back to flying, I have ordered the silicone tubing to make more 10m-length bungees for the 2m Challenge.  See my posts in the F3-RES League Bungees thread for details.   I am happy to offer fully-terminated bungees at the same price as last year: £30 + £3 UK postage with the option of 50m braided 30lb breaking-strain Dacron line for £3.50 extra (no additional postage).  This price just about covers my costs.  These will be white tubing with identical properties to last year's black tubing (but not a raised price!).  I expect to have them ready in about two weeks and I can take payment via PayPal.

If interested, please email me directly at p.r.newman at lineone dot net.

Cheers --Pete

  • martynk changed the title to 2m F3-RES / F5-RES Challenge League Table (2021)

Sadly we've lost our field for the time being.  Hopefully the RES will be back in action next year.

Thanks Martyn for running this challenge 👍
