HELP!!!!!! Electric setup advice required for RCRCM Typhoon

Recommended Posts

Nick Clement

Afternoon all,

Just bought an electric RCRCM Typhoon fuz and have literally zero idea on power train for it. I have some 3s 2200mah lipos that i would like to use and would like something that will be a warm - hot liner rather than something bonkers. Can someone let me know their setup? Just need prop, motor and esc sizes. I have literally zero idea on electric stuff!!!! Thanks loads. Oh and if anyone has a second hand setup that would work this would also be great :-)

Hi Nick,

I fitted a Hacker A20-6XL with the gearbox. I think it was a 12"x8" prop and a 45A ESC. 2200mAh lipo of 40c.

If memory serves it pulled 42A at full throttle and climbed to a dot in about 6-8 seconds. Telemetry said it used 80mAh for each clumb.

Martin.

As I mentioned, it is the motor/gearbox combo. This one:

It's  not cheap, but is very powerful for this model as well as being extremely quiet.

It fitted easily but some care was needed to ensure the motor cables were kept away from the rotating can.
