Neil,

What size flight battery are you using?

Using Thunder Power Rampages 4s 1300mah Roger.

On 3s should you should be able to fit bit bigger ones max width 28mm max depth 34mm.

Canopy opening is 120mm long

Great report Neil.  The Eternity has rather radical looks compared to many of the last 10-15 years of F5J models, but features that make absolute sense to me when using the capability of the latest materials and build techniques.  Short nose, long boom, thin but stiff high aspect ratio wing and big control surfaces.  I have a feel this model design might set some new trends, and seems particularly suitable for UK weather conditions.  Shame it is so late in the season now, but hopefully Eternities will start appearing and we can see them perform in anger.

Simon

What motor and ESC are you using, if I might ask?

Nice ESC! I have one already. I'll order that motor shortly. And what prop and spinner are you using, pretty please?

Thanks for the order Mike. It will go out later today.

Using GM props and spinners. Running 14x10's but needs good batteries otherwise 13x8 is more common

Cheers! I've ordered a pair of those Thunder Rampage batteries - looks like they will be perfect for my Voodoo pylon racer too. What size spinner is what I meant, can't see it on the diagrams for the Eternity.

Next question I have is what servos do you have installed in the Eternity? I'm looking for specific make/models so I can buy in preparation.

For flap servos Mike Kingmax CLS0612W. Right size and enough torque.

For ailerons Kingmax C507. This is a 9g high performance type servo which is now the commonly fitted size to many F5j ailerons. Seems to work fine in 20mph+ winds as long as you use the shortest IDS horn. Then you get nearly 100% servo travel for full deflection thus maximising the torque.

For the tail i also fitted C507's as very good servos but they were a ball ache to fit. Need to see production model servo mounting area to see if they are easier to fit or the same ball ache. For me i will always fit the C507 but wouldnt expect customers have the same issues forca simple fix of a different brand servo
