The British National F3K Championships 2021will be held at the BMFA National Flying Centre, Buckminster, Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th August

The official competition entry is now open and will close Tuesday 24th August!  I understand that not everything goes according to plan and sometimes life can be difficult, therefore I am prepared to allow late entries to the event by 6.00pm Friday 27th August, however these late entries will attract an additional 'late entry fee' of £10 which is non negotiable.

Access to the event and camping, is available from the Friday, camping will be charged at £10 per person, per night, practice flying will also be charged at the BMFA day flying rate of £10.  For those who have not yet visited this venue, it has amazing facilities including great toilet and shower facilities.

For competition entry and camping please click the link below....

https://www.barcs.co.uk/store/category/7-bmfa-sf-nationals/

Once you have officially entered and paid then please register yourself on F3X Vault and add your entry to the list, this is the software we use to do live event scoring.

https://f3xvault.com/?action=event&function=event_register&event_id=2128

Out of all the competitions on the calendar, this absolutely to be the best event to enter, if you are a seasoned pro or a competition virgin, there will be the core of F3K and DLG knowledge and experience all in one place, this is a 'come try DLG' event in real time.  There will be lots of flying, lots of practice, lots of socialising and lots of conversation.  You will leave with a smile on your face!

  • Friday 27th August - Arrival and free practice
  • Saturday 28th August

Original post......

We have recently added the British Silent Flight National Championships for F3K to the event calendar for 2021, with the announcement of the cancelation of the Power Nationals we should be very grateful for the hard work of the SFTC to make this event possible in these uncertain times.

The current allocated day for the F3K National event is Sunday 29th August, however I have made enquiries about the possibility of making this event a 2 day competition.......we now have the green light!

So having a 2 day competition would enable us to complete 12 plus rounds allowing a dropped score, we would also run a 'fly off' which would mean bonus points being available for those that would qualify.

I need to report back to the SFTC by the end of this week, so I am looking for your comments on this?  We have several options for this and I need you all to let me know your preferences.

  1. One Day Event - Sunday 29th August
  2. Two Day Event - Saturday 28th - Sunday 29th August
  3. Two Day Event - Sunday 29th - Monday 30th August

Please reply to this thread with your preference, the majority of votes will decide which option we go for......???

I am also working on actually having a trophy for this event which is worthy of presenting to the British National Champion.

I’m going to vote for one day I’m afraid. Ideally on the Saturday or Monday to avoid splitting the bank holiday. (I realise this wasn’t one of the options!)

Would like either 1or 2 would not want to fly Monday I think its dependant on No's as doesn't make sense to have a 2 day comp with only half a dozen people if a 1 day event has a dozen

I'm doing a Billy Elliot " dono"

I last won the national trophy 2 years ago.  Still have it due to Covid.  It's normally presented at the bmfa dinner (they engrave it).   It's a very nice trophy.   It has just 3 names on it.  Me, Gavin and Richard.

I'm happy to liaise with BMFA if you let me know your trophy plans.

2 day comp would be nice as a mini world's (worst case we have 2 days to pick from if weather pants).  Sat, sun better to avoid Monday traffic.

Comes with a nice wooden travel case.

All we are pleased to announce that we now have a 2 day National Championship competition, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th August 2021.

We propose to run over 12 rounds and then have a fly off with the top placed pilots to decide our new National Champion, I am sure this will be a good competition as the fly off will award bonus points to league scores.

There will be a Silent Flight Nationals entry form available soon where you can book in and pay for camping and competition entry.

Hi,

Maybe to save some time in my capacity as BMFA Records Officer I am happy for the trophy to be presented on the day at your event. It is good to see it is being used and in well looked after. I cannot be at the event in August however I look forward to seeing the pictures and report.

After the event the trophy will need returning to me (via HQ) for engraving in preparation for presentation at the annual dinner. I suggest for safety the trophy stay with the CD and I will arrange a courier to collect it. Can you arrange this please?

Many thanks

Simon Vaitkevicius - BMFA Records Officer

Hi Simon

Many thanks for the clarity, it makes it a more momentous occasion to have the trophy on show and presented to the winner on the day.

I will arrange carriage back to BMFA HQ once the comp is over, thank you.
