25/26th 09 2021 GPS Weekend at Sandhays Scale Gliding Assoc

Recommended Posts

On the 25th and 26th September 2021 Charles Andrew has kindly offered use of the superb facilities at the Sandhays Scale Gliding Association field to the GPS Triangle group.

On the Saturday we will run a day of coaching on GPS flying. The objective being to help you get the most out of your GPS kit and plane. We will also have one Sports Class plane available with a full buddy box set up and GPS equipment for people to have a taster of GPS flying. This will be using a Jeti radio on mode 2. If you have a Jeti radio on mode 1 you will also be able to fly using the set up.

We will also have a Challenge event set up on the GPS League so pilots can fly and post scores to the GPS Triangle League.

On Sunday depending on the numbers attending we will run a Light Class and Sports Class competition. We intend to fly in slots to give people the chance to experience man on man competition.

Chas will be using the entry fees as a charitable donation to the local Air Ambulance. So we intend to charge £10 per pilot per day and a camping fee of £10 for the weekend. Fees will be payable to Greg Lewis before the event commences via PayPal or a bank transfer.

You can attend one or either of the days. If you feel the coaching day is what you are looking for and the competition day is too much that is not a problem. If you want to just attend on Sunday that is okay as well.

Good fields are hard to come by for the use of events and the Sandhays Scale Gliding Association field is not just good it is superb. So thank you to Chas and the club members for granting us use of the field for the weekend.

Details of the how to enter the Challenge event on Saturday and Sundays competition will post on closer to the event. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Details of the field can be found here:https://sandhays.co.uk/

We have decided to postpone this event to another time. A mixed forecast for Sunday and clashes with other events make this the right call.

As soon as we have further detail I will post here.
