Recommended Posts

Venue is Little Bentley Polo Club, Rectory Road, Essex, CO7 8SN.

Your model must have an approved height limiting/data logging device (AMRT) which must be able to show the max height your model goes to during its motor run time plus 10 seconds after your motor is shut off.

The limiting function must be set to allow maximum 30 seconds motor run time, and the height limiting function must either be disabled or set to 300m.
Motor restart is permitted at any time during flight for safety reasons, but will result in a zero score for that round.

The competition will be run to BMFA Local Rules, 6 rounds will be flown if conditions permit and there will not be a flyoff.
Entry fee £10.00 payable on the day.
Proof of BMFA membership (card is sufficient) required.
Entry closes midday Saturday 9th.

This comp. will also count towards the Bartletts League - 2 events have been held in Kent, this will make it 3 and will close the 2021 Bartletts League.

Timing on the day may vary, first flight around 10am.

Ian has kindly offered to do the scoring side, we'll be using GliderScore's online scoring as well as paper for backup and checking.

Draw Matrix for tomorrow should you wish to print it out.

Spare 1 will be timing sometimes.

Another 'interesting' day at Little Bentley. Variable weather - low cloud, some missle, ending with some sun.
Thanks to everyone for coming and helping setup and breakdown the various kit.
Many thanks to Ian for doing the scoring - results below.
Well done to Graham, Paul and Colin.

Some video that @Rayg took showing the murk we flew in for the first hour or so. Cloud base low enough for models to start to disappear!
I've used my weekly data allowance on Vimeo I'll upload part 2 next week.

What a strange day that was for conditions, that were so different between the morning & afternoon. In the first slot that I was in, it was worrying that the model kept disappearing in the low cloud base/murk. This was a better height limiter than any device!!! Still the morning was better for me personally, with scores. The afternoon proved difficult, good if you caught the lift, but not otherwise.

Thanks Tony for running the event and all the helpers on the day. Think a special mention should go to Ian Nicholls, for doing the scoring, by covering the long journey from Kent to Suffolk.  If I had got my landings better, scores would have been better, but looking at the results, I was not alone in needing those points.

Finally the big bonus for me, was not having to negotiate the dreaded Dartford Crossing on a Sunday evening.😐

BTW, I went to Bartletts on Monday for the first time and the whole site was lovely short mown grass, no wind perfect.
