Thought I would share a photo of the Horcum Challenge Cup to get everyone excited! Its a lovely thing.

I am planning to come (and return it) on Saturday, looks like a decent blow on the bowl 😍

It's a real shame to see the weather take a turn for the worse - all was fine and dandy until last night.

Cheers,

Greg

Well, I don't think this will come as any surprise, but tomorrow's comp is OFF.

Even though the local forecast has less rain showing, the timing couldn't be worse,
with the heaviest rain over lunch time and showers following.

So despite how much I would like to think it is getting better, it is not really improving.

However, the good news is the HoH Challenge Cup event will move to the next Winter League event
on the 4th Dec.

See you all then

Definitely the right call Jon. Shame though, as a decent blow on the Bowl would have been great. Here's to December's event then.

Cheers,

Greg

A reminder that the Northern Winter League is this coming Saturday 4th Dec.

Forecast not looking bad at the mo, WSW winds at midday, 15-24mph
A bit on the chilly side though, but mainly dry

Final call tomorrow evening around 7pm

Cheers

Hi Guys

Tomorrows event is ON!

Forecast remains as before, WSW 12 to 20mph winds, so we are on lovely Levisham!
Meet in Braygate Lane at 9:30 for a prompt start.
Oh and don't forget your thermals, its not going to be tropical!

See you there
Jon

Well, blue sky, perfect weather, sub 30 air, pb's everywhere!

Ok dream on, but its was a very flyable day, even though the forecast wasn't the most inspiring.
Levisham was quite benign all day with no real variability and certainly easy close in landings.

A wait at the start of the day when the supposedly WSW wind was a straight Southerly!
However, as per forecast, the wind began to turn, and by lunch we were flying.
With such a small group, manning the buzzers was hectic, but everyone took to the challenge.
Flying was interrupted a couple of times for rain showers, and 8 rounds was easily achieved.

Final scores saw a great win for Rich who also claimed the Horcum Challenge Cup and FTD of 42.02 in R2
Steve was  a close second, with Peter in third.

Thanks Jon.

I was enjoying it by about round 5 I think, when the sun made a brief appearance.

Not sure about the 'no real variability' thing, my 73 in round 1 would like to query that 🤣 But it did settle down a bit as the day went on. It's Levisham after all.

A hectic day on the slope but good to get out on the hill and catch up with you guys. Well done to Rich for his win, I was admiring his flying while buzzing, he was on it!

I had all types of weather on the way home, snow through Teeside and Berwick was really badly flooded on the way home and the A1 was under 6" of water for long stretches, exciting stuff!
