A few notes to close out Radioglide 2022

We were pleased to welcome the Fx-RES community who joined the Radioglide event for the first time. An entry of c.20 pilots competing across two classes for bungee and electric launch - in some cases both - had a great day's competition which resulted in a fly off being necessary for both classes. Congratulations to the winners David Poole (F3L glider) and Alex Maxfield (F5RES). Full results are available on the Fx-RES website https://www.fxres.co.uk This was a great turnout for the first time of this event being run at Radioglide and a credit to Martin Oldershaw and Lawrence Drennan for their hard work in establishing this new class.

The F3k event run jointly by Neil Harrison and Paul Robinson had 14 entries and was planned to be a two-day event. The first day was won by Richard Swindells but unfortunately despite some pilots "testing the air" Saturday morning (and demonstrating just how well a sub 500gram model can penetrate), Day 2 was cancelled due to the weather conditions. Full results can be found on the F3K section of the Forum.

The GPS event organized by BARCS chairman Greg Lewis had a healthy entry of 12 pilots, but unfortunately was cancelled as result of the weather forecast for Sunday. We understand that Greg is planning to reschedule this event for a future date.

Thanks to Alex Maxfield for running the F5J event, he did a great job running his first national competition. His report of the event is attached.

In total we had 88 pre-entries across the 5 classes in what had promised to be four full days of soaring. A great shame that Thursday's excellent weather couldn't stick around for the weekend! However, despite that disappointment a good number of pilots were able to fly over the first three days and enjoy the great facility we are fortunate to be able to use at Buckminster thanks to Manny and his Team.

Finally, thank you to everyone who entered this year’s Radioglide and to those who helped with the organisation.

We’re now looking forward to BARCS Interglide which will take place over the weekend of 16th & 17th July. Good to see an increase in entries during the past few days including some experienced pilots from France. If you haven’t got your entry in yet details can be found on the dedicated website https://www.interglide.co.uk
