Well what happened to that great forecast?
The clouds are now rolling in with some rain  throughout the day

Unfortunately it doesn't look like a particularly inviting prospect,
So sadly the Comp is OFF ☹️

Hope you all manage a dry Bonfire Night, and we will see you on the 3rd Dec

What a nightmare of a forecast, winds flipping between one direction and another,
and now we have a risk of rain mid afternoon. A quick ring round suggests we are going to be short on numbers anyway,
so tomorrows comp is unfortunately OFF

Hope to see you all at the GBSRA AGM 😊

Happy New Year to you all.

Our next WL date is the 7th Jan.
A scan of the weather stations for that date are showing varying amounts of early rain
If that pesky rain stays away we may be on 🙂

More tomorrow evening when a call will be made

What a hope! That rain has has become even worse!

Not clearing until after midday, and given the shorter daylight hours,
the predicted showers probably won’t allow sufficient time for a meaningful comp.

So yet another cancellation! Sorry

Looking good for this weekends Northern Winter League.

Met Office showing 15 to 26mph WSW winds at Midday, no rain, and relatively mild for the time of year
Lets hope this forecast hold true.
Final call this Friday evening as usual.

Dust off your thumbs guys - I do believe tomorrow is ON.
I don't think is going to be ballistic, but with SW winds gradually increasing as the day goes on, we should get some flying in.
Wind direction is for Levisham, so see you all there at around 9:30

Enjoyed myself today, good to meet up again, and great to be able to fly a comp for a change.

Well that were a reet grand day!

Expectations were not high, but Levisham came up trumps and served up some fairly consistent air.
The wind took a little while in the morning to build, but stayed more or less consistent at 6-10 m/s for the majority of the time
Only at the end of the 12 rounds did conditions start to become a tad variable, and by then all 8 pilots had had enough

So after what turned out to be some pretty close racing, Mark Redsell managed first place, Paul Upton in second, and Mike McCracken in third
FTD went to Mark R in R5 with a 40.14. Well done guys.

Results summary :-

1    Mark Redsell              10269.10    1000    Device
2    Paul Upton                 10113.02    985      FS6 / Pitbull 2
3    Mike McCracken        9949.06      969      FS5
4    Rich Bago                   9889.76      963     FS5
5    Peter Gunning             9831.62      957     FS6
6    Jon Edison                  9617.25      937     FS4
7    Mark Treble                9541.91      929     PitBull 1
8    Bob Dickenson           8078.35      787     Impulse 2

Full results to follow

Great to see everyone and for making the effort, in some cases traveling considerable distances, to join in the fun
As our reserve dates are now active, the next WL event is the 18th Feb. Don't miss it!!

Thanks Jon, really enjoyed the day.

Good to see the results, some signs of hope for my 'new style'. It got better as the wind picked up to round 5, hard to know whether the better times were just good air 🤔 Things got a bit more 'Levisham' in the last 3 or 4 rounds.

Magpie fish & chips and a Bothams Bakery 'Jap' are both highly recommended 👍
