Next Northern Winter League is this coming Saturday 18th Feb
Current weather doesn’t look too good I’m sorry to say ☹️

Weather sites are showing winds from all directions for Saturday
Hopefully things will settle down, and we will have a better forecast.

Final decision this Friday evening

Difficult call, weather forecast has been changing all the time 😐
This has reduced enthusiasm, so with numbers down, tomorrow is OFF.

Fingers crossed for the 4th March

Forecast is still looking at NNW light winds at 8-20mph at midday.
We are desperate to get out there, particularly as Mr T has some new software for us to try.

Still, as we know things can change as we get nearer the day
So as usual final call on Friday evening

Well well, I don't believe it, forecast for tomorrow hasn't changed a bit.
Still NNW 8-20 mph winds and whats more, most weather sites agree, so must good

So tomorrow is ON. Meet at the main car park at 9:30am for a fun packed day 😊

I had forgotten just how far it was to walk to the NW slope, I'm sure it was further away than the last time we flew there!
Still we made it, and with the wind more or less square on a full days racing ensued.

Today was never going to be ballistic, but it was better than expected I think.
Some light rain now and then was an irritant but the main grumbling point was the variability of the lift.
But as usual the main culprits came to the top, and after 11 rounds the clear winner was Mark R, with Steve in an excellent second,
with Rich aka Richard III in third!! just ahead of Mark T by  a mere 12 points. Now for the best bit, FTD went Jon E with a 43.86 in R8, yeha!
Bob  also had a cracking day, finally relegating Jon to 6th place.

Well done to all.

Final results were:-

Mark T had some new software on trial, and it worked well with the wind speed and direction now available on the Android.
A few tweaks here and there and it is looking good.

Thanks to everyone for dragging the kit, and me, across the moor, and look forward to our final day on the 18th March
See you all there

Please, “Horcum Challenge Cup” .
As this is the last Northern WL, we will award the afore mentioned trophy to the winner 😊

However , forecast aint looking too bright for this weekend, but early days yet.

Sorry guys, tomorrow is OFF. Very light winds, some mist and showers makes for a not very exciting day.
Shame as that was our last Winter League, but maybe we can run an impromptu event in the near future

see you all during the Summer
Regards
