F3F pilot photo project

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi folks, having built up a large collection (10,000 +) of images from F3F comps over the years, I thought I'd start trawling for my first project on Instagram.

Instagram favours a square format, which is ideal for images of pilots rather than models - which is great! All are monochrome (sorry JP 🙂 ).

This is an ongoing project. Warning: an Instagram account is necessary to view more than just the first few. The link in case you're interested:

I hope they capture some of the mood and great times we have on the slope.

Good work Mike.

Square format is an interesting challenge - used to be mandatory for 2 1/4 sq 120 film cameras !

Yep, a square crop doesn't work for a lot of images, but when it works it's quite satisfying.

The main reason for monochrome (apart from the traditional 'film' look) is that the pilots aren't drowned out by seas of orange bibs!
