I enjoyed the weekend, too, although I didn't fly much. My greatest achievement seems to have been helping the All Stars edge into 3rd place for the team, beating Mickey's Massive into 4th. (It is only fair to say that The Massive were only 2/3 as massive as usual.)

Anyway, I have decided that enough is enough. My 80th birthday is less than three years away, and I've had a pretty good run over almost two decades. Time to get my feet under the computer desk and concentrate on my model designing interests. Just to ensure that I stick by this decision, I have now disposed of all my competitive models, leaving only my 'Personal Best' Pitbull, a RaceM or two, the 'Forest' Extreme and a large pile of bits. I'll probably make a list of the bits, just in case anyone might be interested in spare parts or a challenging repair job. They are mostly Baudis bits, so if you are looking for a spare wing or tailplane let me know, and I'll have a look through.

Thanks to all the friends I have made over the years. (Let's hope there are no enemies.) The F3F community both in Britain and elsewhere is a dedicated and supportive community, and deserves better weather!

William

Sad to hear that you're leaving the F3F competition scene John but hopefully will see you on the odd occasion up at Whitesheet or further afield?

Good luck with all your designing!

I’ve been flying models since I was 11, and I’m hardly likely to give up unless I absolutely have to. I hope to keep in touch with Whitesheet, but the Christchurch club has a lake I can fly off, so I intend to start my adventures with watergliders there.

Lovely lake to fly off or sail on 🙂

Finally also from  Armin & Siggi and me many thanks to Mark and Jon for running again a Eurotour Comp. at this nice (and sometime challenging) location.

3 Slopes / 3 different wind conditions in 3 days, all in all very nice event - okay to admit that Armin and I did not have the worst conditions, allowing me even some "extra activity" during the running timing... 😉

We also had some 2 more varying  days till Tuesday, helping us to prepare for the WC and finally returned safely home - where heavy rain welcomed us...

Best wishes to John T, hope you can enjoy flying for many more years!

Wish you all a nice , pleasant summertime

Really enjoyed the weekend - lots of variety in slope and conditions, with some masterful displays of flying skills. I also spent Monday morning with Markus, Armin, Siggi and Peter on Levisham and it turned into a fascinating and most useful training session into the intricacies of EM.  Thanks guys.

Thanks also to our visitors from Holland, Austria and Switzerland for attending. And to Jon and Mark for their tireless work.
