                                    UNFORTUNATELY FOLLOWING AN INSPECTION OF FISH MEADOW THE GROUND IS TOO MUDDY AND WET TOO FLY THE COMP

                                                                                         COMP CANCELLED SORRY FOLKS!

Midland/Malvern Soaring Association F5j comp 

First of Seven F5j Comps at Fish for this year Subject to Weather an Entry numbers.

Sunday 14th APRIL 2024:    10.00am start. (All day event)                                                                    

Entry fee £5, height limiter available if needed.

The Motor restart facility is recommended to be set on! as landing outside the flying area could mean landing in one of the new Sand/Gravel quarries that have now been 

started taking up about 25% of the field. Although the bonus is the H.T. electric lines have now gone below ground.

Camping/Campervans allowed on field.  SUBJECT TO WATERLOGGED GRASS!

A post code of WR8 0PB will put you on the access road to the tunnel to the field.          THIS IS FLOODED AT THE MOMENT!           do not turn left into East Waterside carry on past and bear right following the path to the tunnel. Please drive around the perimeter of the field on the track to the right after exiting the tunnel. ALTERNATIVELY use the entrance opposite the Marina on the main road please close the gates after entry.

If its your first try at F5j, a height limiter is available to loan.

TODAY 1ST APRIL THE RIVER SEVERN IS SOME 4 METERS ABOVE SUMMER LEVEL AND THE WATER TABLE ON FISH MEADOW MAKE THE LANDING AREAS ALMOST UNUSEABLE. ....... 8th April Water did drop to 2.4 mtrs above S/L but is now just over 4.2 mtrs anyone got a spare Aircraft Carrier?

FINGERS CROSSED FOR AN IMPROVEMENT IN THE WATER LEVELS. A FINAL DECISION ON THE VIABILITY OF THE COMP WILL BE MADE A DAY OR TWO BEFORE THE EVENT.
