heij_eri Posted August 17 Posted August 17 A couple of items were left behind at the gate. We'll bring them along tomorrow 1
DDM Posted August 17 Posted August 17 Enjoyable day today in challenging conditions. My glider even survived Bruce's despicable attempt to nobble it by attaching his bucket hat to the wing as he launched it. What's more it was a huge thermal and sub 40 for sure!!! . Tomorrow I will launch his glider with pants on my head to see if I can repay the deed . 1 6

Redbird Posted August 17 Posted August 17 I thought we flew many more than four rounds? Anyway thanks Les yes I was lucky on one round and had the ballast about right for the others. (Actually the secret is that I am now flying a genuine Jedi, the Pitbull 3 guise is history). 3

We all need a little luck at times

Mikeb52 Posted August 18 Posted August 18 A great 2 days racing. Well done to the top 3, and Graeme getting a well deserved win, for the host club. Great to see 2 new pilots in Mike Crofts, and Mick Fletcher, who scorched a 46 in one round! The highlight for me was seeing Phil getting a great 6th place. So well deserved after the year he has had. also good to see Stu( gromit) making a visit. 2 1
f3fman Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Unbelievably close 1st and 2nd place, and top three within 1% of each other, well done guys 1
Les Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Great to see you got 14 round over two day, congrats to the tree podium guys especially Big G onthe win. 1
Phil.Taylor Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Congrats to Graeme, Mike & John - those top results are so close. (*) Big thanks to the Whitesheet crew for hosting a very successful & enjoyable English Open 2024. Star of the show was Bruce's hat - hope someone got photos For me, it was just great to be there - last year I really didnt think I would be able to make it this year. Big thank you to everyone for the support over the last year. (* so close - that even at 6th place - I had 98% of the top score - amazing) Phil. 5
mtreble Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Great weekend. Thanks to the white sheet club for hosting the event, and JP and Graeme for running it. Very surprised at how close the results ended up after the leads that Mike and Bruce had after day 1. 2
Gromit Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Congratulations to Graeme on winning the 2024 English Open, to Mike on achieving 2nd, & to JP on coming 3rd . Well done to everyone else on their respective placings . On Sunday I went along to Whitesheet to watch the days racing unfold. It was very enjoyable being amongst many of my good flying friends again. Most of whom I haven't seen since the 2019 Welsh Open. Over these 5 years I have dearly missed being able to be with you all sharing in the enjoyment, thrill, excitement, fun & of course frustration of F3f competition flying. I continue to strive & hope that one day I will be able to return to the slopes to fly with you all again. My thanks to you all for making what was a very enjoyable day Stu. 12 1
