The fin on my recently acquired halfpipe was rotating rather unnervingly. After tape removal, I could see the coroplast fin retainer/connector fitted under the wing has split and hence doesn't hold the fin tightly. See 1st photo. Looking down the coroplast hole, I can also see a further spilt at the side which I can't photo.

Any ideas about whether/where there might be a replacement coroplast part somewhere?

Alternatively, I realise the fin rod is normally push fit into this, but should I glue it and if so, which glue would hold to coroplast?

Any other thoughts appreciated.

Cheers

Mark

It’s not hard to find Correx in quite small quantities. It is used a lot by estate agents for their advertising boards. It’s not expensive and comes in a range of thicknesses:

 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162688543304?var=461702529933&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAB_7XZyrGyFpXxtfcWLjzT9Q7m6Q-&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338723872&toolid=20006&customid=i3Ee2EEfAAAAKqMhenrY_n0yILwSAAAAAA

Epoxy will glue it, or hot melt glue. Don’t forget to sand the surface before trying use glue on it. I think the advice given in the kit was to spray carpet glue onto the carbon rod and let it dry. Then repeat until the glue has built up enough to give a good tight fit.

Best of luck

Thanks for the info, really useful,

Carpet glue - not really enough of the correx intact to make a tight fit, probably only 1cm or so.

Hot melt - chickened out, simply due to accessibility and speed of cooling/hardening before positioning.

On one of the power forums I'd read about "flashing" to heat correx with plumbers flame to release the oils before gluing, I didn't try that either!

Epoxy - used that. On a power forum I'd read about pinholing (think that's the term), they make lots of little holes in the correx surface for glue to anchor to so I made a few holes.

Plan B Correx - neighbours house has just sold, there seems to be a bit of the board missing now 😉.

Cheers again.

Lots of now no-longer-needed political correx signs about - mostly orange around here

All ready to go off a cliff this weekend, hopefully not a one-way ticket.

Best of luck! Where are the Leicestershire cliffs?

We tend to keep quiet about our cliffs, wouldn't want slopers from other regions feeling envious. 🤔

Flown on two occasions since repair, all good, stress tested today. 👍. Onwards and upwards.

I do like the Halfpipe, especially as I now have the hang of getting it airborne.
