At its best St Ferriol is the perfect em slope. There is often a wind shear high on the right side, that needs the model placing accurately bottom to the wind. Can result in a ds like kick. The model arrives back at your feet before you have time to blink. 

Scared me a few years back when practicing, but never flown a comp in such good air there.

Here we are at 8:30 ready for the 8:00 start of the second day. One round was flown yesterday in light conditions. Start is delayed because we can’t see owt:

Did get a second round in, but not a third or fourth, so no Pyrénées Cup this year. Andy got 53, Peter 59 and Mark 51. Conditions were OK, but still very variable.

We have the Opening Ceremony for the Coupe du Monde to look forward to this evening. It’ll be a hot time in the old town tonight.

Pretty crap for me, Laurac is an awful slope for day 1 and I missed the 'peak' air which built and then receded. Today was damp and overcast when the round started and got warmer and more bouyant as the round progressed and I was early.

Had a good practice in the better air after the comp and all was good   Daving my luck for the WC and looking forward to tomorrow

Much the same story as this time (and place) yesterday - Welsh style clag, quite a bit of wind and not a lot of action. The wind is quite a way off, but forecast to be on as the mist clears.

Well, it actually turned out OK in the end. 2 full rounds flown, starting about 2:30. 
 

Videos of British flights to be posted some time soon.

Andy is in 23rd place, Peter in 24th, Mark in 34th, but would have been in 26th without the penalty!

Wind speeds were initially 9 or 10mps, falling to 5 at the end of round 2.

The Escueillens slope from yesterday. Its was very variable again, building then receding through round 1. Then the wind started dropping throughout Rd 2 I flew a 53 against a 39 in the middle of the round and thought it was a disaster only for the 2nd half of the field to get slower & slower so it turned out not so bad.

No wind this morning, hanging around St Ferriol town centre waiting for coffee with the air of protest swirling around in the background... All good fun
