I am delighted to share that premium laser-cut rib sets are now available for Sean Bannister’s original all-wood Algebra 2m. This iconic model was the benchmark for thermal soaring model design/construction for decades to come. Thanks to Sean for his support in this project.

I would be grateful if anyone has any colour photos of this Algebra 2m that I could use on the website.

Thanks, Steve.

When Sean first published this design he described it as having a "fast, flat glide". As a slope pylon racer I saw this and thought it might work with no dihedral and ailerons. Worked a treat. I won the Eastbourne Pylon race that year with it. Go Sean

The Eppler 176 section was a slippery section back in the day, especially if the bottom camber was omitted to easy building. Sean won an F3B league comp with this model in the early 1980s, such was Sean's piloting skill and the effectiveness of this little model. Given the section/design, I am sure it would make an effective windy weather F5L RES model today with the addition of airbrakes.
