There was some superb flying on display. Mark T's FTD was seriously impressive. When I was writing the time down I thought no way that was going to be beaten, but others came close. 2

Great to see Phil back in the flock and going like a scolded cat with his black FS6. It's was hard work up and down the for landing along with a non stop busy day but well worth the effort. mark_r Posted Monday at 08:31 Posted Monday at 08:31 Great start to the summer league - one of those days where you have no idea what the air is like until you launch (very lucky to squeak the win). Good to see Joe and Phil on good form too - that precision1 looked extremely unfazed by the conditions with some really tight flying from Joe. The wind speed varied from around 5ms to 10ms, starting wnw and going round to wsw so we were on the west slope. Thankfully only a few spots of rain, enough to create a few completely silent flights but not enough to halt proceedings. Thanks again to Les and Andy for organising and keeping things moving along in Wales again - 12 rounds is good going! 6
Phil.Taylor Posted Monday at 08:54 Posted Monday at 08:54 Congratulations to Mark & Andy Amazing result for me - 3rd place - and with another 36.x - and 38 & 39. Flying as No.6 - with FS6 "Black Magic" - those black wings really catch the thermals well. Good to get the red FS5 back in the air too after a long & tricky upgrade to HV servos - definitely more responsive than the old 3150s. A really good F3F comp - good wind, some thermal variation for fun, and good weather - only a few spots of drizzle later on. But 13 hikes up the hill to land - really exhausting - but hey - I made it through the day ok ! Thanks to Andy & Les - and Brett on the centre - and everyone else for mucking in & buzzing & launching. Overall - a very memorable F3F comp. Phil. 10
