KIC Multi-launch competition SAT 26 April at Sutton Valence

Summary:

  • Multilaunch includes winch launched gliders and electric F5J/2m type electric models.  It's a bit like F5J but easier on the launch as there is a 175m launch height for all.
  • The competition will be held a Invicta's field as Sutton Valence on SATURDAY 26th April 2025.  (sorry about being a Saturday, but we couldn't do the Sunday)
  • This is an open competition run to BARCS Multilaunch rules and non-Kent Interclub club members are very welcome (entry fee £5).
  • Gliderscore eScoring will be used - scores submitted via smart phones. No problem if you are not familiar with the system or don’t have a smartphone – help readily available on the field.
  • We want to have a full day's flying so please check in 09:30 latest and be ready for Pilots Briefing at 09:45 with the competition starting at 10:00 sharp.
  • To enter, please click on Reply to this topic no later than 6pm Thursday 24th April to enable a matrix to be set up.
  • A final decision to confirm or cancel depending on the weather will be posted here by mid day Friday 25th April. (Please note that entrants need to check here and will not be emailed about cancellation.)

Location:

Invicta’s club field is at Sutton Valence, Maidstone, Kent.  Please follow attached detailed directions below to find the field:

  • From Sutton Valence take the A274 heading south
  • As you approach the bottom of the hill go past Forsham lane on the RHS until you see the bus stop also on the RHS
  • Immediately past the bus stop is the farm gate with a lane.  Please close the gate afterwards
  • The field we will be using will be signposted from the lane.
  • Using What3Words (phone app) bus stop & gate has location bells.starch.affirming
  • https://goo.gl/maps/GdJY6skGkwdioPrd6
  • Google map location  51.205708773885256, 0.5908192559640718

Additional Info:

  • Competition rules are BARCS Multi-launch, so gliders and electric F5J/2m all included.
  • Electric launch gliders must be fitted with an AMRT (height limiter) which cuts the motor at 30 secs and records the launch height. Electric launch height remains at 175m but there will now be a penalty of 3 pts per metre for Electric launches exceeding it.   Most pilots will want to set AMRTs to cut a little below 175m. It is fine instead to use F5J firmware and cut the motor manually.
  • A minimum of 4 rounds and a maximum of 6 rounds will be flown

Excuse my ignorance but is this comp for 2m gliders only or for 2m gliders up to and including F5J gliders?
