Hi Simon,

Yes, I was just writing that I managed to improve my PB to 40.38 at the same event with a Ceres, not quite sub-40 yet.  No hurry to add to sheet.

Cheers

Yes I would have had a much worse day without a go on the Wrecker last week.  Should have been under 40 several times, good experience - hopefully better prepared next time.

Hi Simon

Final got round to seeing the spread sheet for the HOH 3rd November WL1

Jedi (feel the force :) ) 34.82

It's funny when you improve your time..... you always feel like you could have got more from the flight ! That's what keeps pulling me back to improve.

Cheers Ewan

I feel very ambivalent towards my PB. I know I was a skilful enough pilot to actually do it. But I am still unable to fly consistently well in competitions. The PB is very often (some would say always) the product of favourable conditions, and I think of mine as more the work of the mega thermal that came through than mine.

Think pb’s area nice addition to a day racing.

But as soon as you chase pb’s youre not really racing

keep it real

Right hill + right time + don't cock it up = PB

F3F is easy in good air, its all the less good air you really have to fly well 👍

My favourite PB isn't my own, it was Stefans 25.xx at St Ferriol. Absolutely brilliant to watch as it was the best thermal I have ever seen and about 25ms, a different turn style each end just make sure to pull the elevator and ping, ping, ping 🤩 Fantastic!!

My Favourite was John's!  It was a biblical thermal and so fun to watch!

Well, thanks, Clayt! I seem to be the only person there who doesn't remember it!

Look in the next issue of BMFA News, Peter, and you'll find an article about how the recent World Champs were an object lesson in flying poor conditions. Includes a remark along the lines of: "F3F isn't won by flying fast, it's won by flying faster than the others." (Can't be bothered to look up the exact words!)

Well, here's my claim for last weekend's epic F3F.  My PB improved by my usual small increment to 37.20, and put down exactly the same time in the next round to prove it wasn't just chance!  I was pleased to string together some reasonable times in what was my second big air comp.

37.20     Jedi,    Welsh Winter League 1,    17/11/18,    Bwlch Crest
