Email notifications, how do I turn it off?

As above really. Logged on to my email to see I had 2 emails to say there are a couple of new postings in a thread . I don't really want this, but on my profile all I can do is turn off 'personal messages received' notifications? Any ideas?

at the bottom there is a subscribe button, on the thread in question yours should say unsubscribe. click that so that it says subscribe. Should do the trick
