conwy soarer
Some of you may know me from the other place which has got decidedly quiet these days! For those of you that dont I have been flying gliders for more than 30 years (though it doesnt show) I am based about 70% in North Wales only a gliders throw from the Great Orme, I also fly Snowdonia and the Lleyn when I am up North and 30% in the Swansea area where I fly Mynydd y Gwair, the Gower and the Brecon Beacons. My main interests as I said are slope soaring and I dabble in combat, foamy hotdogging, mouldy flying (learning all the time) a bit of scale (old and new) the odd PSS and also flying retro stuff. I run a club in the school where I teach and currently have about 12 keenies and about 6 or so 'lurkers' I probably spend too much time on the forums but with the lack of specialist magazines (RIP QFI!!!) its a good place to pick up tips and have a natter. Had a good hour or so playing this afternoon above pontlliw, it wasnt bang on and I should have listened to the better half and gone onto the Gower - a good blow mind! Woodstock
I never quite know the forum etiquette when someone that you don't know "in the flesh", and has a username that doesn't use his name, and he doesn't use his name in his posts either, but other people call him by his "real" name. Is it acceptable to also call him by his name (because you've seen others do it), or do you stick with his username?

I will probably be somewhere on the A470 with 2 dogs travelling back up the hill - will be around till the end of July so will probably see you up on the Orme - but not this weekend. slope_dragon_x
I kind of think of forum names as nicknames, so both must be ok. Alright Jon?
Skip
I'm an Aussie so culturally I have absolutely no clue about etiquet I've actually never met ConwySoarer/Jon/JJDemery in the flesh so to speak, Sorry if I have offended anyone. Anyone can refer to me as Clay, Clayt, Clayts, Clayton, Sir, Sonny, Sonny-jim, Skip or whatever. I draw the line at Clinton or Cameron though
Bobbyr
Well Chris , OOOOps Do i know You ? i would rather people call me by my name , rather than my user name . i think its more Informal . But if people want to be secretive about their name , then im happy calling someone "Monkey Tadger" Or whatever there Username is .
