Forums are a great place to sell and buy your used modelling goods but they are also targeted by fraudsters. Following the guidelines below will help make your transaction safer.

If you are the topic starter and are selling or buying please update the topic straight away if you do a deal via PM. It can be upsetting to find out you missed out although you posted first on the forum. Make it clear to everyone what's going on please.

Do not post in for sale or wanted topics if you have no interest in buying or selling.

Sellers must be fully paid BARCS member. Join Here

The items you are selling must be owned by you and ready for sale. No auction style adds. You must state a price for your item.

No trade or commercial adverts allowed. If you buy or sell in this forum it is entirely at your own risk.

When the item is sold please use the "Mark SOLD or SORTED" link at the top of your for sale topic. If the sale falls through and you want to re-advertise please create a new ad. If you have found a wanted item please post that you have found what you were looking for and mark the topic Sorted.

Buyers:

Before sending payment:
Please obtain the first and last name of the seller.

Please obtain the full address of the seller, which includes the house name and / or number, city or the town, and the postcode.

Refuse the addresses of relatives or places of work.

Please obtain a land line telephone number, ideally for the address which you have also obtained. Mobile numbers are also advisable but always ensure that you get a working land line number.

Check and double check that you are sending payment to the person who you are dealing with. Make sure that both you and the seller are aware of any clearing period, i.e. the time it will take for the payment to clear. If you can, get a receipt or other form of proof of payment.
