We haven't held EPP competitions since 2010 but we used to get fields of 8-10. Assuming the guys still have them around 8 would be an average turnout.George

Hi Dave,

Wales, its a one off two day event. This 2 day contest can be used to count towards your overall league score.

Basically with the new structure you need 3 1 day league contests and 1 2 day contest which will count towards your overall league score.

If you choose to do all the 1 day contests (7) and all the 2 day contests (2 day contests will be BMFA Nats, BARCS Open, Southern Euro Tour or Welsh Open). It will be your best results that will count to your league position.

Hopefully this will help towards encouraging more people to participate in the League this year, as they will gain a good result should they at least attend the required events.

Hope this make sense but please read the rules I have just sent out on F3F Yahoo groups.

Thanks

Martin

So if you do all the one day events and non of the 2 day events you won't get a meaningful score towards the league?I'don't think that will encourage participation to be honest.

I agree with Tom on this one. Some people maybe albe to give one day a month there time, but cant manage a 2 day event. Seems a very odd decision to me.

I think it should work OK, most people in the league either fly the Northern Events and Wales or the Southern Events and Wales, should work better than last year where the top flyers were well down the league because they didn't do any Southern events or vice versa. Tom

Any news on the Welsh Open 2012? I guess with Kev up in Deepest Scotland someone else is taking over the organisation??

I don't understand why a euro-tour event would count towards the league ?

I can understand that the nationals 2 day event maybe should be, but I find it odd.

Just my 2p's worth and it won't effect me either, so best of luck.

Just to note and as advised in another thread all League Contests are offical Team trial events to qualify to the fly-off. I will announce dates for the fly - off once I have these confirmed along with location.

Thanks

Martin

4 & 5th of August are down as BARCS open.

Anybody got any slopes we could use.

It might be a good time of year to go to the seaside, and try somewhere different.

Gower? Lots of slopes other than Rhossili that should be usable.

Lleyn - Mr Dorling - you out there?

Portland?

Exmoor/ Weston

Gt Orme (area)

Exeter (Ian?)

Eastbourne (although that's not new there are a lot of new slope possibilities)

I can arrange all the gear and do the organising if someone can supply a slope or two

How about having a quick chat with the NT Rog next time your down that way.

Push tourism - national event etc etc... we only want 100mtrs!!

Port Eynon is a nice edge.

Good one at the end of oxwich common as well.

And by the coast guards hut by the worm.

and of course the lower slopes of Rhossili.

and blue pool area of Llangenith

I would honestly count Portland out (sry),

The Olympics will be in full swing and its bad enough getting to the Island now without the 250 000 expected daily spectators clogging up my roads .

Bob

p.s In fact i was talking to a marquis club flyer yesterday , and there is a NO fly zone in place while the olympics are on , from portland to Winterbourne . Hopefully that covers models over 7.5 kg

Not a bad idea, but I now have confirmation from AJ that we can use Wales

It would be nice to go some where different, and August is crying out for a nice coastal slope and some sea breezes followed by a quick swim across the bay.. .
