Just a quick note to all F3J pilots who have entered R2 of the UK F3J league being held this Sunday (13th May) at Marsh Gibbon that it is most definately on. The forecast for Sunday is currently good.

Pete Allen has been closely monitoring the condition of the field over the past few days and has confirmed that he is confident that it will be OK for Sunday. We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.

Just got home from my first foray into F3J competition, an excellent day and many thanks to the organisers.

The field was a bit squelchy with a couple of larger vehicles getting stuck but it was good for spearing the gliders in!!

Weather was good with cumulus popping early on, spreading out later and a strengthening breeze which I don't think caused any problems apart from a couple of gliders landing in the downwind field. Conditions were not easy (well, for me anyway!), particularly mid-afternoon with many pilots taking relights.

Ian Duff was the fly-off winner, with Colin Paddon, Kev Dart and Graham Wicks close behind (but not in that order, sorry, can't remember). I'm sure the official results will be posted soon enough.

Looking forward to the next event when our team will have its act together on who exactly is flying in which slot!!

Cheers

Gary

PS:Will upload some photos when I've worked out how to do it!

Cheers, Jerry is our honorary club photographer and takes some great shots. I have the originals that he would be happy to use elsewhere on this site.

I'll have my camera with me at the other events, plenty of time to take piccies during the fly-offs!
