Hi All

Just a quick update on today's proceedings. Wind forecast was NW turning W which turned out to be spot on. The problem was  there just was not enough of the stuff to start a comp. However we amused ourselves with a Round Zero for an hour or so before the wind speed finally picked up, settled on West-ish and off we went at around 2:30. Three rounds by just after 6 was pretty good going. Better prospects for tomorrow.

Scores so far are :-

1 Peter Kowalski 2694.67 1000.00

2 Greg Dakin 2688.05 997.54

Hi All

Just a quick report on the second day of the Comp. Winds forecast for WSW at 13-20mph which set us on Levisham slopes for the second day. These winds took a little while to settle, but racing started at 9:38 and continued uninterrupted until 4:30 with the completion of a further 6 rounds, making 9 in total.

Winds speeds in fact exceeded 40mph on occasions and in typical Levisham style were bumpy, ballistic and unpredictable all in one. Final results were difficult to predict, but as Paul has reported, gave a win to Alvaro Silgado, Simon Thornton in second and Mark Redsell in third. Mark also snook in with the FTD of 33.69.

Full results to follow, but finishing order as follows :-

1   Alvaro Silgado   7311.02       1000.00

2   Simon Thornton 7162.38       979.66

Many thanks to Rich Bago, Mark Treble, Frank Hulton, Ronnie Lampe, Martin Newnham and Mark Redsell for their terrific support throughout the weekend, and to everyone who helped shift the large amount of kit up and down the hill!!

Not forgetting all the pilots of course, who's enthusiasm kept the 'ready box' full throughout the weekend.

Cheers

Big thanks to Jon and the NYMRSC for their organisation this weekend. Was a good decision to run the round 0 on Saturday, and the course was up early on Sunday. A hard weekend's flying, with some of the most variation in conditions within rounds I have seen for a while (I think the reservoir in Poland was worse!). Any mistake meant you were punished badly.

Big Congratulations to Al for a good win.

Simon

But I didn't make any mistakes......

:(

Cheers John and the team, a nice weekend and a well run comp.

I have nothing to complain about except my own lack luster performance.

Can I  blame the tyres?

Something let all the wind out on my runs.

Congratulation from my side. Wish I had been there but @Paul if then certainly I would have had no wind  .

Seems it was a perfect Needle day  :P  :P  :P .

Well I've got to say that I don't recall a comp when the second day scores changed the leader board so much - Al went from 7th to 1st, Simon from 10th to 2nd, and Mark from 17th to 3rd.......all showed some stunning flying, and let's face it, cream always rises to the top!

I don't think that you had any really good air during the 2x days Mark, so to secure a 10th place showed robust form!

Cheers,

Greg
