I'm certain you'll all be as impressed as I am, with the details of Tonys and Sloperacers Sponsorship and support for the event.

Note;- I have today updated the above entry list for the comp. We now have 22 pilots entered. These entries I have confirmed via e mail.

Hi guys,

I am delighted to announce that Tony Fu, owner of Sloperacer, http://www.sloperacer.co.uk/ will be sponsoring all of the Trophies for the re-introduction of the annual English Open F3f comp into the UK F3f calendar. This is excellent news indeed. These trophies will be awarded to the winner, runner up and 3rd place of the English Open each year. The winners names of each trophy will, each year, be engraved onto the trophies. The winners shall each keep their trophy for the period between each annual English Open F3f comp.

In addition to sponsoring all of the trophies, Tony is also supplying a fantastic first prize to be awarded to this years winner of the English Open. Tony is donating a Schwing, in the patriotic gorgeous red white and blue scheme. Here is a link to Tony's Sloperacer site, and full details of this magnificent prize to be awarded to the winner of this years English Open. http://www.sloperacer.co.uk/_content/schwing88.asp.

This is a fantastic prize for the winner of this years comp.

I'm sure you will all agree with me when I say, this is excellent sponsorship and support indeed from Tony Fu at Sloperacer, for the return of The English Open F3f comp at Whitesheet.

I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Tony personally, and also on behalf of the Whitesheet RFC committee, for his magnificent sponsorship for the return of the annual 2 day English Open F3f competition.

Important note ;- It is a condition of both myself, as organiser of the event, and of Tony, as the main sponsor, that the prize of the Schwing cannot be given to any other sponsor or retailer who enters the competition. If such a person were to win the competition, the Schwing will be auctioned or raffled (to be decided) and the proceeds in full will be donated to the UK F3f team.

  Regards,

  Stu, Whitesheet Comp Sec.

Hi guys,

The venue for the Saturday evening meal & social is the Fox & Hounds at Tytherington, http://www.foxandhoundspub.co.uk/index.php?id_sec=22  .  I have booked the function room. Its a nice country pub, only a 12 minute drive from Whitesheet, and very easy to find.

Directions to the pub ;-  Drive back down the track / road, to the main road ( B3092) T junction, next to the Red lion Pub. Turn right. After approx 9 miles, you will see a sign to turn left to the Fox & Hounds at Tytherington, take this turning. The pub is then on the right hand side about a mile along this country lane. Plenty of parking available.

If anyone is planning to camp or caravan over the weekend of the English Open, there is a camping and caravan park less than 3 minuits away from the pub. Its a smallish site and the owner of the has told me that booking is strongly advised  . https://www.pitchup.com/campsites/England/South_West/Somerset/Frome/seven-acres-camping-site/

I know a few of you are staying at Centre Parcs, Longleat, which is also close by http://www.centerparcs.co.uk/villages/longleat/index.jsp

Hi guys,

Last night I spotted that I had somehow missed putting Mick Walsh on the above published list. He's on my pilots list here at home. Mick sent his entry in on the 14th June well before the entry closing date.

Mick hasn't been in touch with me to point out that his name isn't on the published list either.

I have now added Mick to the above list.

Hi Guys.

A week ago, i took delivery of the prize that is going to be awarded to the winner of the English Open F3f. This as you already know is the very gorgeous looking patriotic schemed Schwing which has been very generously supplied by our main Sponsor, Tony Fu of Sloperacer. http://www.sloperacer.co.uk/_content/schwing88.asp

I have to admit to peering longingly into the box several times during the week .  Today, i took advantage of the good weather and took some pics for you all to see. The Winner of the English Open is certainly going to be made very happy, and impressed by this fantastic prize from Tony at Sloperacer.

See here for pics ;- https://www.flickr.com/photos/53568953@N02/sets/72157645938035111/

Hi Guys,

Meeting time and place on Saturday Aug 30th for day 1 of the English Open will be at the top of the Whitesheet Slopes at 8.30-9.00 am. Pilots briefing will be at 9.15, racing will get underway as soon after as possible.

I'm fairly certain all who have entered know how to get to Whitesheet, but just in case, here is the link to the Whitesheet RFC website http://www.whitesheet.org.uk/ .  Under the main menu on the left of the page you will find a 'location map'.

From the A303 take the B3092 towards Frome. Stay on this road for a couple of miles until on your right hand side you reach the Red Lion Pub, turn right beside the pub into Whitesheet lane. At the bottom of the whitesheet slopes the lane becomes a hard core track, this track will take you to the top of the hill. The lane & track are in good condition.

Once at the top of the track/byeway, please park all vehicles neatly along its sides, ensuring that access remains open at all times for Emergency vehicles & the Water board.

Important note ;-  Do not attempt to access the Whitesheet slope's by driving in from the other end of the byeway, ie, via the B3095 end of the byeway. The byeway from that end becomes unsuitable to all veh's other than 4x4. There are huge pot holes / lakes that are very deep, do not attempt to negotiate them.

  Stu.
