Sorry guys, I've done my best but annoyingly todays comp just isn't do'able . Our xmas family commitments had to be changed  due to poorly relatives, which has meant using up today  ......I'm not happy

Hope you all have a great day  .

What a brilliant day out - probably the best Woollybacks that I've attended! Not too cold, plenty in the way of challenging conditions, and sufficient wind at the end of the comp to appease the speed freaks...

Great to see some old friends, and learn a little more about the latest tech, especially Ian's Merlin and Keith B's excellent Kinetic - great aerobatics display at the end of the race!

As always, the main man AJ worked tirelessly to keep the race running smoothly, so thanks as always to the SWSA and of course congratulations to the podium regulars :-)

Cheers,

Greg

A fantastic day and a good chance to see the difference between 'ok' for sports flying and race optimised.

It was great to meet up with everyone for 10 rounds of challenging and mixed racing.

I'll see how the pictures come out later.

Special thanks have to go to AJ. No model and still happy to cd for the rest of us

Excellent day on Mickey's, with interesting conditions which built during the second half of the day. Nicely relaxed, and run at a perfect pace by AJ. AJ deserves a medal, as he manned the centre all day, after loosening a flap servo at the end of his pre-comp test flight. Pitbulls were in evidence. They certainly fly well and everyone who was using them seemed very satisfied. Pete Gunning's Stinger was running very well. A beautifully moulded model, finished off with Lee Morgan's fantastic airbrushing. There were 3 Ceres in the comp, which is pretty unusual these days, but they do fly very well. I managed a 37.xx in one round with mine, against an FTD of 34.xx (I think). Greg made his Needle go very fast. Not sure if he has found the ultimate set up yet, but he is having fun searching for it. Martin's and Mike's Feeestylers were going very well. Ian's Merlin was very smooth. Not sure what his Fastest time with it was.

All in all, exactly what the Woollybacks should be.

100% echo what has been posted above.

AJ gets very little spare time and to sit on the slope all day and not fly is truly commendable, it's not the first time he has done it this year either and we all get to benefit from this.

Hats off AJ and a very very big thanks from me for all your support you are second to none.

A great day out. Thanks for running it aj and well done to the podium. Greg's needle was looking majestic all day, amazing pumps and great momentum retention!

Martin, you are going to have to learn to cut properly!

Martin, you wouldn't have cut if you were flying the Merlin  :D

Seriously, a great day out. Well organised, well run and the company was great

I got a few clips on the phone and go pro. Have chucked them together. Will give those that couldn't make it a taste of what they missed

Great days racing, thanks to everyone who put in the work to make it happen. Interesting day with the conditions changing through the day.

Congratulations Greg, the needle certainly was looking very quick during the afternoon's stronger session.

Bank and yank. Still the quickest way around a Welsh edge.

Glad to hear you had a good day and that there is still some banking and yanking going on !

Well done Greg, worth missing your Sunday lunch for then :)

Well done Greg, great result. What was that conversation about being a busted flush?

Simon

Yes, perhaps I spoke too soon Simon - rest assured that normal service will be resumed at the next race though - I've clearly burnt up my thermal allocation for 2014!!!!!

Thanks for all the kind words guys, the end result was quite a shock to me, but a very welcome one nonetheless:-)

Definitely a day worth missing the Sunday roast for........and again quite a bit more learnt about the Needle. Happy Days!

Cheers,

Greg
