Big Bear
Hi Guys, I recently got my hands in a Multiplex DG-300. The ailerons had Hitec HS80mg in which I've replaced with 85mg's but all the rest (Flaps, rudder and elevator) had Futaba FP-S148 of which 2 had failed! My question is what is everyone's view on which servos I should replace these old ones with? Cheers Adam
Woodstock
I am experiencing very good results with Turnigy, Blue Bird, and XQ power servos - usually in the $25 range (I tend not to go cheaper). The Turnigy "TG" series (with red and metal striped aluminium on case) are absolute jewels...
Phil.Taylor
I asked the same question on RCG last year - and a good bet came out as - Hitec HS-325 HB - about £10 - probably the best of the cheap & easy to find servos - has a ball-bearing top bearing. For a significant improvement in torque, speed, holding/centring - I then went to Futaba S3010 - but they cost more - about £20 Futaba 148s are usually pretty reliable, I've got several in various planes - suggest you check all the linkages for any binding whilst fitting new servos.
