Phase 5 build

Looking good Trev !

It's funny how the old classic's are coming back into fashion. I got a Phase Lift plan from Chris, when I got my Phase 5 plan, I'm just pondering whether to have a go at building it.

Since my1st flight I've increased the aileron & flap movement, as it was a little slow in the roll. The CoG was moved back a little during the flights as well. As there was a 25-30mph wind (and no ballast) it wasn't exactly the best of conditions for a test flight, but it flew really nicely.

Incidentally, I've also found out there's some on eBay whose making laser cut wing ribs for the Phase 5. Bit late now, but wonder if he'll do Phase Lift ribs..

Hi,

You could just give Chris Foss a ring and get a new plan directly from him? It was only £10-£15 when I got one from Chris (can't remember exact price, sorry).

Telstra is an AU company and bought PSINET in 2004

This proves nothing but a NSlookup on uk.telstra.com

uk.telstra.com  internet address = 154.32.100.8

Only shows 1 internet (probably web) address - which when you try to connect to, gives the same error message (connection timeout) as chrisfoss.co.uk

My guess is that its a web site problem - possibly maintenance during the holiday window. Possibly uk.telstra have gone boobies up..

I would give Chris a ring tomorrow. He is a very approachable guy.

That's a very nice glider. I was also planning to get a glider. But not familiar with the mechanics. So I decided to buy a smaller rc glider first, learn the mechanism then build my own glider. I found one at http://www.nitrotek.co.uk/catalog/product/view/id/10463/s/reduced-hubsan-h301s-spy-hawk-5-8g-4ch-rc-plane-rtf-with-fpv-gps/category/1504/ . Is it a good idea to for this one???  It has the GPS which am sure I was going to put in anyway.

I have just had this Phase 5 thread pointed out to me and I just could not resist showing off my model. Built from the plan using laser cut ribs. Note the “authentication” signature on the top of the Fus. I met Chris at a glider comp and he very kindly signed it for me. Also note the 3D printed all moving tail mech – rock solid, much better than the bought units. First flight was at Ivanhoe a few week back – very please with it.

I don't mean to bust up this thread but if I may I'd like to add a little something here...

Does anyone else think that Chris Foss / Ripmax should offer their gliders as ARF? There are ARF versions of their popular planes so I think it's only fair they offer their gliders too!

I've already got an UnoWot and an AcroWot, plus a Middle Phase and a Phase6, but I'd like a newer Phase6 or Middle Phase. The trouble is I have absolutely no time to build a kit. I'd quite happily fit out an ARF, especially if the control horns were pre fitted...

It won't ever happen I'm afraid.

There simply isn't the market for the ARF versions of the Foss gliders. The figures didn't stack up and still don't for producing them.
