Hello from Sean Cull, Lancashire / Cumbria

Hi, just saying hello as a new member here.

I am getting back into models after a 25 year gap having flown nitro as a teenager.

I live in Lancashire but am also in Cumbria quite a lot.

I fly some electric but slope the thing that I enjoy the most and the Rivington Soaring Association guys have been very welcoming. I fly a Phoenix 2000 ( initially tried a 2nd hand fiberglass 2m but it was too much ) and a X-iT EPO wing.

I am interested in the radios too and have posted some stuff here http://seancull.co.uk/category/rc-models/

If anyone fancies a mental challenge can you suggest any good sloping in this area :

I have good relations with some of the farmers and a walk of up to an hour is fine.

I have flown a wing off The Pike - http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=54.328382~-3.253579&lvl=16&sty=s&sp=Point.t1nk2wgqw09g_The%2520Pike____&eo=0&q=la206ey

But it is one of those situations where the wind blows around the hill and if you don't stay in just the right zone the model disappears quite quickly.

Winds at the first pin are normally either SSE or NNW.

Thanks, Sean

hi Sean, Burney fell isn't too far from there, just north of kirby moor. decent lift for the models you have and landing ok on top. works best in westerly but works with a bit either way.

Thanks Paul, I often look at that wondering if it is any good. The Cumbria Para Gliding Club have it listed on their site

The wind rose is pretty good too.

I was hoping to find some "hard to get to" local slopes that are just too far out of the way for most people but an interesting walk out - a bit of an excuse for a walk from the house - It is just for a bit of sport flying

I did wonder if Hesk Fell ( pin 2  below ) would work
