Hope today's better for you all .

Not a lot Stu.  Much nicer day but lacking in the essential blow.  Went back to the beach, on the other side of the Maharees peninsula.  Just enough wind for me to fly the Alula from top of dunes.  Chris had little luck with his Speedo.  Andy lobbed his Needle - musta been a lack lustre throw cos it hit the sand/rocks at the foot of the dune  :o   No harm done though.

wind picked up a bit and I got the Ephoon out and with a bit of fanning would cruise up n down the dune.  Wind kept shifting direction so I gave it some height and wow!!  Going up on its own.  Cruised around straining me neck peering up high for some 20 minutes without any more fanning.  Supper.

Then Chris got his leecy Xplorer going and that would float along all day.  Did a few low passes which I attempted to get on camera ......

Meanwhile Andy took a long hike down the beach to find better air and I caught a few on his return....

Chris beat me to this so he's added names I did not know

Today’s fun was to be had at the Camp slope again where we park on a 1 in 5 slope on the corner near the top of the pass, set up the planes and chuck ‘em from there  J.

I arrived firs about 11 and found a good wind blowing straight up the valley when I got out of the car.  Fantastic.  I loaded up the Vampire with full ballast (1st time for me) and lobbed it.  Wow!!  Up she goes and was if fast (for me anyway). If it had have been an F3F comp I would definitely have improved my PB considerably.  Huge air and pretty smooth too.  I had 3 or 4 good flights culminating in a landing which caught a wing snapping the Vamp round and breaking the fus  L

Andy and Chris arrived and Andy got his big scaley rigged.  Chris lofted it into the air and she flew beautifully, fully aerobatic.  I did not catch what it is but it has 5m span.

Chris flew his Sagitta with great verve and this brightly coloured beauty.

I don’t know what model is this.

Finally, I spotted my next auto restoration project on the way home........

I've fond memories of flying at Camp, stunning slope, stunning views, endless slope & lift,  'Cracking' flying . I also remember  a conversation Chris had with a paraglider   lol, Andy b & I closing our eyes as we watched a lady driver reverse her car to let us pass, over the edge of a huge drop and balance on the edge :o.

No flying today.  cloudbase at zero feet this morning.  went to visit a "relative" in Listowel instead.

Last day tomorrow and wind according to Windguru is N, 12 - 14 mph.

Should be good for Camp again.  I've not broken everything yet ..........  :o
