Hi Guys,

Above entry list is up to date.

Having been following both the BBC & XC forecasts for many days for round 3 this Sunday, up until lunchtime today it was looking favourable for us with a dry day being forecast, and a light S- SW. However, since lunchtime today the wind direction has changed to an unfavourable direction, this being SE - SSE  http://www.xcweather.co.uk/forecast/mere_wiltshire  http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2642730 . Unfortunately the Whitesheet RFC slopes don't cater for anything E of South so if these forecasts hold we shant be able to hold the comp.

However i've decided that with only a slight change in wind direction needed for us to stage the comp, and a dry day being forecast, i've decided to hold off the weather call until midday tomorrow in the hope that tomorrow mornings forecasts show a swing back onto the slope.

We do of course have a reserve date, this being the 25th should the forecasts remain unfavourable for us.

Hi Guys,

With both the BBC & XC forecasts still showing an unfavourable SE for tomoz, I have no option but to call the comp OFF. The reserve date of Sunday 25th Jan now comes into play for this comp.

Its a real shame as we had a very good entry of 17 pilots for tomoz. I hope that the reserve date is convenient for you all & I look forward to receiving your entries in due course.

  Stu,

  Whitesheet Comp Sec.

  • 2 weeks later...

Take 2 ;-

The Southern Winter lg rd 3 takes place this coming Sunday, Jan 25th. This as you know is the reserve date following the cancelation of this event on Jan 4th due to the weather.

Please send your entries to myself at swallacegromit@aol.com by 9.00pm on Friday 23rd Jan. I shall make a weather call the same evening & post it here.

I shall update the pilots list as the week progresses & for your convenience I shall as usual post links to the weather forecasts.

I hope as many of you find this sunday as convenient as attempt 1 to hold this comp, we had 17 pilots entered for this.

If anyone needs some surgical gloves (good protection from carcinogenic glue), I have got several boxes more than I need. They are latex, powder-free and yours for £4 per box of 100. (Boots sell something similar for £2+ for 10.)

Let me know if you are interested.
