The English Open 2015 will be staged by the Whitesheet RFC in Wiltshire over the weekend of Aug 22nd 23rd.

The Venue;- Meet time will be 9.00am on both days. The meeting place will be along the byway at the top of the Whitesheet RFC slopes. Just as for last years event, I am again securing the use of additional slopes to cater for wind directions that are unfavourable for our club slopes.  

Last round in progress will be 5.00pm on the Saturday and 4.30 pm on the Sunday.

Entry;- Entry will open at 9.00am on Monday 1st June and will close at 9.00pm on Tuesday 30th June. ( please do not send in your entries prior to the opening date.)

I shall advise on the entry fee shortly.

Entries are to be sent to myself at swallacegromit@aol.com .

please include the following;-

1. Name,
2. Frequency,
3. BMFA / insurance details.

On the Saturday evening there will be a meal & social in the function room at the Fox and Hounds at Tytherington, this is only a 12 minute drive from Whitesheet. This venue was excellent for us last year, having very good food, drinks and service.

There will be a raffle of modelling goodies.

Apologies for the delay, & lack of posting, but 12 days ago my son Tom was re-admitted into hospital, very seriously ill, has had major surgery and in intensive care.

Firstly, apologies for the lack of news / updates / info for this yrs English Open, this is due to my son Tom's continued very serious illness, Tom is now in Isolation in Hospital going through a very difficult time. As you can imagine, everything else has very much had to take a back seat for my family and I, thankyou for your understanding.

Since the published closing date of Tuesday 30th slipped by, I have received several more entries, with entry numbers being as they are I have therefore decided to keep the entry period open until 9.00 pm Friday 10th July.

The above entry list was updated. on Sunday 5th July 7.10pm, we have 21 pilots

Hi Guys,

            Just as last year, on the Saturday evening of the comp I have booked the function room for a meal & social at the Fox & Hounds at Tytherington http://foxandhoundspub.co.uk/  . This proved to be an excellent venue for us, with good food, service & drinks. Over the past few days, last yrs winners of the Trophies, ie winner Mike Evans, Runner-up Mark Treble, and 3rd place Tony Livingstone, have returned the trophies to me, thankyou for this guys. I shall be getting your names engraved onto them in the coming few days & preparing the trophies for presenting to this yrs winners.

 My apologies to Tony Robertson. Ystdy i received an e-mail from Tony, along with a forwarded one from Whitesheet committee member Chris Lamming (Ribs on this Forum), again from  Tony.  Tony sent in his entry correctly several weeks ago but an oversight / error by myself has meant that i missed his e-mail entry. My apologies to you Tony for my error. I have added you to the entry list.

 

Reminder ;- Would pilots please let me know asap, if they will or wont be coming to the meal & social on the Saturday evening, i have at present only received this info from a few of you. I need this info so that i can advise the venue of numbers,  thankyou.
