Which CA to reduce slop ?

Recommended Posts

MikeDaBike

Should I use thin, medium or thick CA to reduce linkage slop (in conjunction with some kicker) ?

Any advice gratefully received.

Mike

I use a careful drop of thin. Others may use different, I just prefer it.

I agree with Skip....VERY careful!

(Use the capillary tube that usually comes with the bottle. I always keep the tube in place with heat shrink.)

So 2 votes for thin and 2 for being super careful. Good tip on heat shrink too. I may just practise on the remnants of my typhoon wing. Thanks !

Ended up using thin CA very, very carefully and a capillary tube which made it a bit of a doddle.

I now have slop free linkages so thanks again for the advice.

Mike, was this a ball joint linkage or a servo arm linkage ? Tks Sean

technique is to add CA to a clevis to eyelet connector -  glue them solid then rotate them free.

Yep, MikeE's correct ; the fix was applied to a servo arm linkage

Actually I had used medium CA as I realised when I opened the 2nd of 2 bottles (thin CA, the 1st being medium) last night
