La Muela and Gijon

Booked the ferries and the tryp hotel for la muela.

Ferries are already hard to find with some crossings full and others with limited accommodation. Had to book a bigger cabin than I really needed.

On the plus side there are now a few economy ferries that run, saving a couple of quid.

Also there is currently a 30% reduction on rooms at the Tryp provided you pay up front. Breakfasts at the Tryp are very good and we'll worth taking.

Also booked with Brittany ferries, a 11 day holiday in Asturias. Taking in the Gijon comp in august. The holiday with 11 nights in a self catering casa seems very good value with a 20% reduction for early booking through Brittany ferries.

Just a heads up to have a look at the current prices if you are considering going to Spain this year.

Nice to hear that Mike, we could possibly have some training together before the comp.

Hi Silv2.doc

Not sure if that insert works, but its a file of a post card I sent to Silv after our first trip to La Madelaine then down to La Muela.

Next one is just weeks away and I am looking forward to the holiday.

Some nice memories that you may enjoy if you fancy a read.

Best wishes to the GB pilots taking part at La Muela over the next three days

Try and keep us posted if you can grab a few minutes between the flying and socialising

Liz and I have arrived at the tryp hotel in Guadalajara. Very easy drive down this afternoon and the crossing was the best I have known. Boat never bobbed at all. Remarkably flat conditions.

Didnt have time to go to the hill as Liz wanted to go shopping for some groceries.

Have fun and a good comp everybody.  Hopefully the weather is better than the UK Easter forecast!

Strange. - but I can't find the like button for your post pointing towards today's results Simon.

:(

just had a very nice meal with Andreas though, so day not a complete washout.

And the fs3 had a somewhat miraculous dice with death and won . I almost stopped Pierre from launching it but buzzer was counting down and a zero was looming conditions were however as I expected and the model went down, down, deeper and down .

and yet another revival

Status Quo resumed.  Same every year

La muela 1 me 0.

That was my instinct until I read the numbers... 3068.73Km/h - no. 31? If that was the case, many of these flights would not be legal.

You might think so, but I don't see how it can be, for three reasons:

 I) The Spanish for 'wind' is 'viento' with an 'i'.

ii) if it were wind speed, it must have one hell of a day! F3F CD's usually measure windspeed in m/s, 120 for the leading pilot is way above the legal max, and loads of these numbers are way below the legal min of 3m/s.

iii) wouldn't it be listed for each round?

Hi all

My apologies - for some reason I thought this was a Frenchman's list.....

So, do we know whose list it is? Perhaps it's some sort of personal shorthand?

What other parameters are displayed on a UK listing?

Once again - sorry!

Regards

Pete
