Hi Martin,

I understand that by dint of my one appearance (right word?) at last months Midlands league event that I qualify for an entry in this event - the last place I believe.

Could you confirm (or not) and outline the proceedings please, as I have not done this type of event before.

Thanks, Jerry

Thanks Andy, this is as I understood it.

I still need to know how the weekend goes, meeting times, places etc.  I know some depend on which slope(s) will be used but good to know general info.

Ta.

Hi Jerry,

Info will be finalized after this weekend.

I can confirm that we will be meeting either at the Wrecker or Ice Cream Car Park at 8:30am on the 2nd April and 9am on Sunday 3rd unless otherwise advised at the end of Saturday.

Thanks

Martin

Having never been to these slopes, I would appreciate some guidance/pointer(s).

Not just for flying 'em, but for getting there also.

Jerry,

I had a couple of days at the wrecker and the Crest. It's just like Ivinghoe but...with  12 large Starbucks coffees and a packet of Viagra,

Your heart will be pounding and you will have trouble getting it down.

Jerry, you will be fine, its not a difficult place to fly.  Plenty of us there to help / assist if needed.  Providing weather plays ball you will have a blast.

Hi Jerry

As Martin already stated it's not a difficult place to fly, perhaps a bit scary to look at (Wrecker/Crest/Back of the Wrecker). The westerly slopes (Mickey's) are - my personal opinion - one of the best slopes for beginners in F3F. You can fly as close to the slope as you feel comfortable (and still fly with reasonable speed) and the landing area is just plain beautyful (if you stick to the principle to pull crow when you are in front of the trees ;-)).

I've flown my first ever F3F comp on Mickey's (well the Westerly) and it felt comfortable from the start (I rather wouldn't mention my first attempt on the Back of the Wrecker - but it wasn't the slope but the idiot on the sticks).

Cheers

It was actually meant to be a bit of a joke.  I'm not really worried.  I'm hoping to get to the slopes Friday afternoon for a bit of practice, weather permitting.  It will be my first visit.
