This coming week-end the 16,17 and 18 September, the East Sussex Soaring Association (ESSA) are holding an international F3F (slope racing) competition with 43 pilots. Obviously the competition will be held on which ever slope the wind dictates but so far the long range weather forecasts indicate a westerly wind which would mean the Long Man west slope. We then went up the hill to the NW face which, of course is the furthest away. Peter G Posted September 19, 2016 Share Posted September 19, 2016 Thanks to JP, Pete and the ESSA for organising a fine few days in the South of England! That hill was a fickle mistress but it didn't stop me enjoying a weekend with friends on a bonny hillside. I think my start number was doomed (and the guys before and after me) but the guys at the top excelled in the tricky conditions being aggressive and tight on the turns whether they got the air or not.
