Mid West Wales (Aberystwyth and south)

I'm hoping to move to this part of wales in the very near future, anyone know of existing sites, slope or inland where I can fly? I fly anything from 60" to 6m - so pretty flexible.

Cheers, Ell.

Hi Ell

Membership to the Aberystwyth and District Model Flying Club may be worth considering.

Its predominantly power flying however they do have a reasonable South to South West facing slope on their club site.

I have flown smaller sports models off Monument Hill in Westerlies (also known as Pen Dinas Hill Fort).

A few miles south on the A487 there is an area called Monks Cave where you can slope soar North West wind direction. Convenient layby and short walk to the coast path.

Hi Buzz,

thanks for this, really useful! I'll probably have a look at the Aberystwyth club, and possibly Meidrim - whereabouts are you? We're hoping to move to Ciliau Aeron.

plenty of north westerlies on this coast, not much west to south... Lampeter area looks promising on the map at least.

Ell.
