Recommended Posts

martinlaw

Hi,

The hinge on one wing has split half the length of the flap

I can get behind the wiper to repair but unsure of best method and strongest materials to use

Any guidance would be appreciated

Martin.

Hi Martin

The link in the post above is spot on.

When I damaged my Willow the other day, part of the aileron hinge broke. I got some Geocell fish tank repair silicone and followed the instructions on that link and it worked perfectly first time.

Its simple to do, leave it a good 36-48 hours to set.

For future reference, this is the one you want to get. It's 25grams and it's got an applicator nozzle that will put out small beads of sealant. You can get it for around a fiver delivered from ebay, at time of writing.  You can actually use normal silicone but this stuff has the advantage of slightly lower viscosity and a small applicator, which works very well. It lasts very well.
