Multiplex Airbrakes source help.

Recommended Posts

Gromit

I'm refurbing my trusty Multiplex DG303 and am in need of a replacement set of airbrakes. I cant find anyone that sells Multiplex brakes. They measure 350mm.

Are these still available ? Anyone know of a stockist ? Perhaps someone has a replacement set gathering dust in their workshop that they might like to sell ?

 All help much appreciated.

Hi Stu

"Seek and ye shall find Gromit"

I assume the Storklappen you need are the double action type Mpx #72-2641?

Unfortunately the set I have are the 250.00mm #72-2640 so, not what you want, BUT if you can't find a set of the big 'uns you are welcome to the pair of  little 'un's I have, for the admittedly, horribly expensive price of a fiver

I have used both in my MPX scalies and find that although the double action ones are more scale-like, the single action ones are just as effective in use SO if you are stuck, mine are yours, as they say, for a fiver - ex stock - you'll just need a 100mm blanking piece in the brake slot......

If you must have the big 'uns I think your best bet is speaking to a specialist German supplier.....or maybe Paritech (who are French, I think) or somebody similar

Regards

Pete

Hi Stu, I have a pair of 250mm mpx single blade brakes. If they are suitable, I will bring them up to the fly in on Sunday. Yours as a freebee.

Stu,

Have you tried Gliders of Newark. I seem to recall they being Multiplex stockists.

They can be repaired if the small pin has broken off the inboard plastic arm.

I have photos from when I did my MPX ASW 22 brakes.

 Cheers

Hi Mike, Many thanks for your generous offer of these. At 250mm they are unfortunately going to be too small. Thank you very much though for the kind offer of these.

Hi Gary,      I 've repaired one of the brakes previously, as i'm now doing a refurb of the model I thought i'd treat the 'old gal' to an overdue new set .

Stu,

Here across the pond I order from these folks:

http://www.topmodel.fr/en/airbrakes-C637

One pair left in your over/under 300mm mechanicals and end of June for the electric over singles.

The crazy Canucks have a one too:

Great place

Wally
