5 rounds flown then a few hours of fun flying. Not a bad day for a forecast that was dire. IMG_3408.thumb.JPG.c9ecd295a50373d762efb153b68408a7.JPG

Yep I second that,thanks guys.

Strange day, shame more thermals didn't appear.

The only thermal seemed to be that small funnel thermal that Mike got in.

Not the fast comp by any means but a enjoyable one in the light air and good sunshine.

Hope you all get a great day in tommow, sorry I can't join you.

Andy has the results so you will have to wait for any report.

Paul and I flew till around 4 pm in some lovely sunshine. But insufficient wind to have continued with the comp. So we did make the right call to stop when we did. It rained for 5 minutes

Thanks Jerry, it's much appreciated mate. To be fair I had fairly consistent air each round.

Really loved it, it was a brilliant day and everyone just had a really great time. When we weren't flying we were talking rubbish and having a good laugh, that's half the fun. Pity you couldn't make it.

Despite only getting 5 rounds in Saturday and only able to sport fly today I had a great time.

Welldone JP with a convincing win and Mike for his third.

Thermaling on Pole Cot today was a blast, all taking it in turns to come screaming in from cloud base, testing the structural integrity af your airframe, Greg was Up to his usual shenanigans, flat out six feet off the deck... Inverted! A joy to watch.

Thanks to all who made this happen, difficult weather call Mike but the right one!

some pics below.

Congrats to JP - a well earned win - despite flying into treacle a couple of times - those "Drops" turns were so tight & neat

Thanks to Mike, JP & Andy for keeping it all friendly & low key - and everyone else for making it work smoothly

For me, it was a very enjoyable "holiday" weekend away - Jaipur curry was good too.

Thanks guys. In the end it was a very enjoyable weekend.

Sun shone. Thermals popped and curry was great.

Thanks to Andy for doing the lions share of the work, while I sat around stressing.

But in the end thanks to you all for coming along and enjoying everything the Mynd has to offer on a forecast that just wasn't ever giving a reliable outlook.

yes Great Weekend

nice bit of sport flying and a well run Saturday comp, shame we had to stop really Saturday.

And the beer Andy showed me was very nice, luckily there was no rooms available at the inn

right call for me Mike and plenty people entered, it was shame Sunday didn't happen.

we need to have a look at the number rule soon, if we did have a comp it may have not been valid ? to many no shows after the call was made.

I was happy any way, got to see some trains on the way home :)

Very well done & Congrats JP on winning Saturdays comp, to Graeme on taking the 'runners up' placing, & to Mike on taking 3rd place,

Well done to everyone else on your own individual placings, in particular to Brett on finishing in 5th place.

Very well done Brett, I look forward to warmly welcoming you sometime soon I hope, onto the slopes of the Whitesheet RFC .

Shame that the wind didn't pick up enough to enable any racing on Sunday, it sounds however that a good day of sports flying, socialising & enjoyment was had by all, a good day was had by you all anyway :)

Well done & thanks to both Mike & Andy, for organising & running the wknd.

Thanks for the pics & posts

Fantastic day out yesterday - sunshine, sport flying, top-notch company and a real holiday vibe!!

Thanks to Mike, Andy and Paul for bringing it altogether so capably, and for creating a great atmosphere on the slope.

Congrats to JP, Graeme and Mike for their podium places on Saturday, only wish I could have joined the party 😩

Back to Yorkshire for more fun and meriment then.....

BTW, the competition is valid - I've just checked the 2017 rule book, and 8 pilots are required to start the event, so we're good!!!

Cheers,

Greg
