New to F5J - Problem with Horizon Hobby

Recommended Posts

Tone-the-glider

Hi all.

I have ordered from Horizon Hobby a Reichard ALADIN 3950mm ARF glider.

https://www.horizonhobby.co.uk/p/reichard-aladin-3950mm-arf.htm?SessionId=&a=article&ProdNr=0610303&p=46344

On the web page it states "Availability:(Delivery time: in stock, 3-4 days)" with a green "flag" to show it is available.

I have been waiting now nearly two week for delivery and despite many email to them I have had no reply's.

I an getting concerned over the whole issue, does anyone else have had the same experience?

Cheers

Tony

I don't know anything about Horizon Hobby, Tony, but I hope you are not abandoning F3F!

No John.

Just fancied a bit of competition where I did not have to climb steep hills. Also can do a bit of thermal flying in my local fields. less than 5 minutes from my house. To find a decent F3F slope is at least 1 hour 20 minutes

But not stopping F3F in fact going to Asturias next Tuesday.

Cheers

I ordered an X-Vert from HH just for something different to fly.

It too had the green flag and 3-4 days estimate. Nothing heard here either, I thought it was because of the weekend, I'm worried now mine's in the same boat as yours :(

As far as l know Horizon went bust a few months ago.

The US site is still operating, l suggest you enquire direct to them.

Good luck.

As far as I know, all my contacts are with Germany. the confirmation emails are from from horizonhobby.de

So does anyone know different?

I will look for a contact email address in the US and keep you updated.

Great John, see you there, where are you staying?

I am flying out on Tuesday next,  staying at the Hotel Sercotel La Boroña.

Cheers

Where did you get this from?

Back in April, Horizon consolidated their European service operations into one site in Germany and turned Staufenbeil into a direct selling operation for Horizon products. If you order from horizonhobby.co.uk you are actually ordering from Germany hence the 3-4 day delivery.

@Tone-the-glider ask them to confirm dispatch and advise a tracking number.

Steve

Done that Steve,  in fact sent 5 emails with now reply.

That is why I am getting concerned,  I have even raised an issue  with PayPal and they have not responded to that either.

The only comfort I have is I should get a full refund from PayPal (hopefully)

Sounds pretty standard from HH EU now. I knew how bad the service had got but i still tested the water a few months back and placed a order that was in stock. Never showed up, i ended up putting a claim in with paypal and getting my money back.

It looks like HH EU has gone as well.

Just tried again, held on for 15 minutes to no avail.

So disappointed, have to review my opinion on German efficiency.

Trying again now, listening to the same pre-recorded music over and over.

My advice is never buy anything from them.

On hold for over 15 minutes calling Germany?

Ouch, wouldn't want your bill...

Almost nothing via Skype.  £0.018 per minute.
