DLG - come and try it day and workshop - October 14/15

Recommended Posts

We are running a low-key DLG weekend at the BMFA National Flying Centre Buckminster Lodge..  If the weather was poor, it may mainly be indoors.

If it's flyable, outdoor sessions are on.  Over two days with an evening and a morning - flying should be possible.

There would be a social aspect too.

Camping would be available.

If this works a repeat next spring with more publicity would be the plan.

Topics

Launching technique - (the top launchers to contribute)

Flying for duration and getting back

Fast turn-arounds

Setting up the model before first flight.

How to fly the tasks

How to time the tasks.

Timing boards.

F3K score and other softwares.

Running a contest.                           Mike F.

We would be sharing the field with the F5J Team Selection meeting.

Well them boys need all the help they can get so we can show them where the lift is,  they normally have to use fans on the front to keep it up.

I will see if I can put together a beater for anyone who is interested to fly, weather permitting. :-)

I've started a list of possible topics - we'll add names of people to lead the indoor topics as they come forward.

Tell us what you want covered...

I'd be interested if it weren't a 155 mile drive. Maybe another time somewhere closer.

Sounds good to me. I'm new to DLG so would love to come along and learn.

I was going to fly the f5j TS... (seems like a good enough event to try my first ever 5fj competition)

Not sure I will be able to spare any time to come over, but maybe there is an opportunity to give the "J" guys a demo if they decide to have a formal lunch break.

I'm going to change my mind & come to this. I know pretty much nothing about f3k tasks so I think this weekend would be just what I need. Can we turn up on the Friday & stop over as Im coming a fair way with a caravan?

Martin,

You can camp on Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night if you wish - it's £5 per night per unit.  A unit is a tent or a caravan.  There's water and toilets but no power hook-up.

It will be £6 per head for each flying day.

I'm wondering about coming along but it is quite a long trip and I probably wouldn't be able to leave until Saturday.

Do you have a rough schedule worked out?

Most importantly, what time would you be kicking things off on Saturday?
