Sounds like you know.

Yes, some are the same.  JR and Graupner for example,  Futaba/Fleet/Schulz compatible too, but as you say the TX needs compatible make and rx needs compatible make, many people have tried futaba crystal in JR tx and wondered why it wont work

You aren't sending PPM to a PCM receiver are you?

The left wing is heavier than the right, by 7 grammes! 577 left/570 right.

Can probably live with that!

Ah, quite likely!! That would explain it.

Back to the 9X instruction manual.

 Cheers

Yep, tried it. There are ZPCM, SPCM and PPM options. Forgot about those.

Still didn't work, might be on the right lines though.

I guess when this receiver was on sale it would have been in a combo with a matching transmitter (that worked).

2.4 has it's problems, taken me a few years to understand how to make it reliable.

Bingo! The NER-627 XZ needs ZPCM, the clue was in the name!

Similarly an R700S needs SPCM.

I had tried ZPCM but the transmitter doesn't transmit until it's back on the main menu page, no servo wiggles with stick wiggles!

Well, I've learned something, about 15 years too late!

Dual conversion is not futaba specific.

Or wasn't depending on how you look at it.
