Height limiter, data logger?

Recommended Posts

Tone-the-glider

Hi looking for bit of advice as I am hoping to enter some comps this year in f5j.

I have a 4m thermal model with very limited space in fuz (pod and boom) with the motor and a 3s 1000mAh lipo, the C.O G. is just about acceptable (slightly forward).

I understand there are certain Height limiter, data loggers that are not of correct spec in UK comps, also is it best to have one that can be programed in situ if possible, and  also do I need to download the flight data after each flight so will  I need a laptop or similar?

Looking forward to all you experts comments.

 Tony

This is what I am using (and quite a few others) - it has a built in display so you don’t need to plug a reader into to it after the flight.  Unfortunately it is showing as out of stock at the moment (maybe because there is a new even smaller one arriving shortly).

Other option is this: https://www.esoaringgadgets.co.uk/height-limiters-amrt/rc-electronics/rc-multi-3-altimeter-height-limiter.  This is new out but the company is experienced in these devices so I’m sure it will be good.

Talk to Bernie Jones and I’m sure he will give you good advice.

Simon
