F3F RX AERIALS

This is my placement for the 2.4GHz aerials in my Needle 100.

Gone for a vertical whisker and horizontal whisker , in tubes.

Any reasons why that will not work ???

Should be fine.  May be slightly better if you get the active parts of the antennae further apart (e.g. move the horizontal further to the right in the photo to get more signals diversity, but I doubt you can fly a Needle 100 more than 1Km away (I ground tested early 2.4 gear out to > 1.4Km)

That's the configuration I use.  No issues to date (Futaba).  I occasionally do a check in "range check" mode and expect around 25m from directly behind the model with the model on dry grass.  All other directions are better.   Moving the horizontal aerial to the right as Simon suggests would also reduce obstruction by the servo metal gears/motor.
