Back to the building after the weekend in Wiltshire for the English Open.

Next step is to install the joiner tubes into the fuselage. The fuselage has dimples moulded into the sides to show the position of the leading and trailing edge of the wing. A  ply template has been made to mark the position of the holes to be drilled for the joiners on masking tape.

The plan is to drill pilot holes and open the holes out checking that everything is square as I go.

More progress. Holes for main joiner, front alignment pin and servo wires done. Taking my time to make sure it's all square.

Dry fitted to see how the plane will look. Gluing tomorrow if all goes to plan.

Love the quality of your work Mark.

Your Hedgehog wing looks really short at 2 meters compared to the Sonic at 2.5.

Roll rate should be impressive!

I see you still haven't got your Ahi canopy.

David.

This time, don't forget the tape or rubber band when you do those negative manoeuvres.

David.

Mark Did you not hear me tell Graham not to leave the canopy to its own devices in negative manoeuvres

Getting the front joiners glued in. 30 minute epoxy with some micro balloons.

Plane is set up and then the plates supporting the joiners can be epoxied into place.

Check the wings are square with a length of cord fixed to the back of the fuselage and then check comparative distances to each wing tip.

Shaping finished so model assembled for a preview.

Need to let the dust settle before glassing the wings so back to it tomorrow night.

Time to order the servos.

Glassing the wings.

Epoxy is applied with the roller and then the wing is covered with kitchen roll which is rolled on to soak up excess resin - forgot to take a picture of that bit.
